A View From the Parsonage

My house doesn't exactly look like
this. And truth be known, I don't live in a parsonage,
although I have
lived in a few. Usually parsonages are church owned homes. Still, I
consider the home we own ourselves as the parsonage because I hope our church
members always feel that our home is their home, or church or whatever its
needs to be for them at anytime, day or night.
Years ago churches were almost
required to have a parsonage. A preacher couldn't be expected to uproot
his family with no place to go! That worked for a time but then when it
came time to retire, the Pastor had no home to retire in and no equity to move
where he wanted to retire. So, parsonages are out of fashion now, but I still
like the thought behind them...a place for the flock to find comfort.
I titled this page A
View From the Parsonage because I feel I do have a special view that a lot of
people never see. It is both a blessing and a heartache. My husband,
Jerry, and I see people in different lights, depending upon their current
situation. If all is well, you and I probably see them pretty much the
same. However, it's when the rain pours in on a family or an individual,
that we get to know folks. It is then that the value of faith is revealed
through the Lord, His Word and hopefully through His
servants.
I hope the Lord will
use me to help you in your walk of faith. If you have any questions
regarding faith, please let me know.

Faith is the daring of the soul to go farther than it can see.
